Fists Almost Fly In Bayelsa As Ijaw Youths Clash With Dokubo Over Biafra
A serious altercation ensued in Bayelsa State on Saturday, between a former militant leader and Niger Delta activist, Mujaheed Asari-Dokubo, and some Ijaw youths over Biafra issue.
Dokubo, it was learnt, had assembled an expanded inaugural meeting in support of Biafra in a hotel in the state.
But the problem started when the chairman of Ijaw Youths Council (IYC), Central Zone, Kennedy Olorogun, got a hint of the meeting.
Olorogun it was gathered, was angry that Dokubo chose Bayelsa, a homogeneous Ijaw state as a place he would hold a meeting for the actualisation of Biafra.
He was said to have quickly mobilised his executive council members and other youths to the venue of the meeting and ordered Dokubo and over 300 persons already gathered for the meeting to vacate the venue

Dokubo, the founder of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF) and a supporter of the Biafran struggle, it was learnt, resisted the Ijaw youths.
However, the former militant leader and his group, were said to have vacated the venue, after policemen intervened to eschew possible violence.
The foiled meeting which was convened under the auspices of the Biafra National Council (BNC), had in attendance persons from across the states in the South-East and South-South.
Olorogun, who confirmed the incident to newsmen said, “When we got the information, we stormed the venue of the meeting to stop them.
“They tried to resist us but we told them we were prepared for them because we will not allow any part of Bayelsa to be used for a meeting calling for the actualisation of Biafra.
“I wonder why Dokubo decided to bring such meeting to Bayelsa. But we stopped them.
“It was getting out of hand but the police intervened to stop possible violence. My happiness is that we stopped the meeting from holding.”
