Many Nigerians especially those in Enugu State are this morning still questioning the proposed N210 million naira refurbishment of  the toilet facilities at the international wing of the reconstructed Akanu Ibiam Airport (AIIA) Enugu, Southeast Nigeria.

The matter has been deliberated since this weekend when  it was disclosed to newsmen at a media briefing held during the weekend in Enugu by the Southeast Governor’s Forum (SEGF), Committee on the Airport Rehabilitation/Palliative Works.

They say it makes no sense as the amount is outrageous and is monopolising discussions on TV, Radio and on social media.

Chairman of the Committee, Engr. Chris Okoye, who spoke on behalf of other members, presented a comprehensive and detailed situation report on the airport project which will cost the sum of N10 billion naira released from by the  federal government said the present state of the toilets is an embarrassment to the airport which they are hoping to be a state-of-the art facility when completed.

AIIA, was officially reopened by Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika last Sunday, after 370 days of its closure on the 24th of August 2019.
