Remembering Previous Winners Of BBNaija: Can Tochi Beat The Odds To Win The 5th Edition Of The Reality Tv Show?

The awareness media has decided to have a look at the previous winners of the Multichoice organized TV Reality game show and their progress so far after emerging winners and walking home with mouth watering prize money and fame.
Lets see how this former BBNaija winners are doing today.
The Big Brother Naija Season 1 reality show came live from March 5 to June 4, 2006. However, It went off after the first season until 2017 when it made a rebound with the second edition sponsored by Payporte, one of Nigeria's indigenous Ecommerce companies.
Since it's first edition in 2006, there have been four effective seasons of the show. Each season takes on different theme and topics that addresses the mainstream societal issues and happenings at the time.
Besides being fiercely fruitful as a show, the MultiChoice Nigeria-produced show has likewise gotten probably the surest approaches to achieve big-name status. The show has has produced other superstars even when they never emerged winners of the showt. The stars are seen in the media and entertainment industry respectively. Such stars includes presenter Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Nollywood actor Gideo Okeke, and Bisola etc.
Some of these ex-housmates though not winners of the show but have essentially grabbed the opportunities the show presented to make success of their respective careers.
Now, let's look at all the past winners of the biggest reality tv show in Nigeria from the first season to date.
1- KATUNG ADUWAK:
He emerged the winner of the first-ever Big Brother Naija in 2006, running alongside people like the current BBNaija Presenter and media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke.
Katung at the moment is a major part of the Nigerian entertainment industry, despite preferring to work behind the scenes as a director.
He was only 26 years old when he won the $100,000 prize money but he knew exactly what he wanted to do with the money. He quickly went off to Digital Film Academy, New York to pursue a directorial degree.
Since then, Katung Aduwak has piled on an impressive resume that includes working in leadership positions in places like Cool FM, Chocolate City, and Viacom International Media Networks Africa.
He has multiple directorial credits on movies like ‘Unwanted Guest’ and ‘Heaven’s Hell’. And he is currently a filmmaker at 'One O Eight Media' and the chairman of the board of directors at 'Hashtag Media House'.
2- EFE EJEBA:
Popularly called ‘Efe Money’, but real name Michael Ejeba. He won the 2017 Big Brother Naija (second edition) after its massive comeback to the screens. He walked away with the 25 million naira prize money, an SUV, and thereafter launched what seemed to be the beginning of a massive musical career.
However, his music career hasn’t picked up so much momentum since the release of his hit song, ‘Warri’ featuring Olamide. He is still struggling and pursuing music fervently and has released several other singles including, ‘Yeba’, ‘Campaign’, and ‘Somebody’.
In 2019, EfeMoney told radio presenter Yaw during an interview on Wazobia FM that despite pursuing his music career, he is also a businessman. Efe who is an Economics graduate from the University of Jos surprised the OAP when he said he had been investing in different businesses and now has realized more than the initial 25 million naira prize money he won and has it saved up. He recently dropped his new playlist, ‘Non-stop’.
3- MIRACLE IGBOKWE:
Miracle Ikechukwu who hails from Imo state claimed the title of winner in the 2018 ‘Double Wahala’ edition of Big Brother Naija (Third edition). He was one of the most loved contestants throughout the show, but he has opted to stay out of the limelight. Miracle became the first southeasterner and Imo indigene to win the show.
Positively obsessed with the idea of becoming a commercial pilot, Miracle who calls himself ‘Flyboy’ left for the United States after receiving his cash prize. He soon enrolled in Epic Flight Academy, Florida, United States to complete his aviation training and obtain his Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
He has refused to get dragged into petty issues from other housemates and has remained focused on the concluding parts of his aviation certification. He is still in the United States

4- MERCY EKE:
Mercy created a new record when she became the first-ever female to win the Big Brother Naija show at the end of last year’s ‘Pepper Dem’ season. She also became the second Southeasterner and Imo indigene to win the show immediately after Miracle Ikechukwu, thus putting Imo state in the record books for winning the show back-to-back (3rd and 4th editions)
She has remained at the center of conversations and continued her career as a reality star with ‘Mercy and Ike’ on Africa Magic.
Lambo, as she is fondly called by her fans at the moment has become a fashion icon, influencer, and businesswoman.
The fashion powerhouse is currently the brand ambassador to brands such as Ciroc, Just Furniture, Patricia NG, and Mr. Taxi. She also runs her own businesses, a fashion outfit – M&M Luxury and a real estate firm, Lambo Homes.
Following the successful outing of previous participants of the show from Imo state, who among the current participants from Imo state will break the record and win the show for a record 3rd time for the State.
At the moment, Imo state has three participants in the show,namely; Tochi, Ozo and Prince.
The young and intelligent Tochi who hails from Nkwerre LGA of Imo state looks promising.
