Simy Nwankwo Busy Shooting Crotone Back To The Serie A
Many of us here in Nigeria may have forgotten who striker Simy Nwankwo is but I can assure you that football fans in Italy, especially in the city of Crotone know who he is.
Since joining FC Crotone in the Serie B in 2016 he has been one of the highlights of the team which now sits in the second position and is eyeing a return to Serie A.
In 103 appearances so far he has banged in 37 goals. The respectable 35.92 goal percentage has made him an integral part of Coach Giovanni Stroppa’s blue-collar team that was founded by Greek immigrants in 1910

In his last 32 games, he has scored 17 times in 32 appearances which raises his goal percentage to a brilliant 53.12 % to show what form he is in.
The lanky 28-year-old forward who has played for Nigeria four times was part of Coach Rohr's squad for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, before being dropped was on fire again just days ago.
He literally bombed table-toppers Benevento to smithereens by pulling their defence apart like a soft loaf of bread en route to his hat trick and their 3-0 demolishment at the Stadio Ezio Scida.
With 52 points after 32 games, The Shark of Calabria is a team nobody wants to play in Serie B and to say Nwankwo is a major catalyst behind their putsch would be an understatement.
We wish him continued luck.
