Coronavirus: As Food Prices Soar In Imo State Imo Awareness Coalition Pleads For Uzodinma To Step In
The Imo Awareness Coalition, a watchdog group, has advised Governor Uzodinma to tackle the hike in food prices amidst the ongoing lockdown in Imo State.
The President of the group, Emmanuel Okwu yesterday in Owerri said it observed an astronomical rise in the prices of food items immediately the State government announced a lockdown

“Prices of food items such as garri, rice, and yam have all increased by more than 100 per cent.
“This is needless and unacceptable and a drain on the finances of the people who have been compelled to stay at home because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“The State government should monitor this price hike by setting up a body to ensure this exploitation is put to a halt."
