Osimhen Confirmed To Be Among The Fastest Players In The World

After Nigeria beat Lesotho in Maseru in November last year, their coach  Adam Siddorn told his Crocodiles not to hang their heads because they had been beaten by a very strong team with a very special player who has wings for feet.

As we in Nigeria know, he was talking about Victor Osimhen who carved up the reptile's defence on way to scoring his brace and secure Nigeria a 4:2 win.

Well, Siddorn obviously knew what he was talking about as Victor Osimhen has been named among the top three fastest players in the French Ligue 1.

This is based on data tabulated from Stats Perform and published on the official website of Ligue 1 Conforama.

According to the information pooled Montpellier's Algeria international striker Andy Delort (below) recorded the fastest speed in a Ligue 1 match this season during the meeting against AS Saint-étienne on February 9, clocking a  red hot 36.8 km / h. Considering that Usain Bolt’s top speed is about 47 km/h and the world's fastest two-legged animal, the Kangaroo clocks around 70 km/h this is simply amazing.

However, both Lille's Osimhen and Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe have been revealed as the two most consistent players at high speed.

The two 21-year-olds are the only players to have recorded at least 35 km / h during six Ligue 1 Conforama games this season.

In 24 league outings, Osimhen (below) has registered his name on the scoresheet on 13 occasions while Mbappe has tallied 15 goals in 18 outings

Osimhen has also performed the third-highest number of sprints (370) in the French top-flight, behind only Marseille's Bouna Sarr (395) and Monaco's Aleksandr Golovin (374).

Gareth Bale is currently ranked as the fastest player in the world at 39.9 km / h.
