President Buhari Appoints Professor Godswill Obioma To Replace Uwakwe At The National Examinations Council
President Buhari has appointed Professor Godswill Obioma as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Examinations Council (NECO).
Before his appointment, he had been the Ebonyi State's Resident Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
He officially took over the affairs of the Council from the former Acting Registrar Mallam Abubakar Gana on Friday, 22nd May 2020 at the Council’s headquarters in Minna

Prof Obioma's appointment comes just two days after Prof Charles Uwakwe and four others were sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari over allegations of financial impropriety.
The new Registrar is a Professor of Education Measurement and Evaluation and was a former Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Educational Research and Development Council.
Prof Obioma also served as the Director, Monitoring, Research and Statistics, National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB); Director Monitoring and Evaluation Universal Basic Education Programme; Director Monitoring and Evaluation National Primary Education Commission and Head, Department of Science, Mathematics and Technology at the University of Jos.
